Beginning Technique Workshop Series

Sunday September 19 through Sunday October 24, 2010
11:30am to 1:00pm
$68 for the series

Description:

This is a special 6-week course that progresses each week, and is therefore a separate item from your regular class package. Beginners will learn the fundamentals of dance through extensive warm up, and activities across the floor,as well as explanation of the vocabulary you will often hear in other dance classes. There will be a new activity learned each week, as well as review of the week before, and thus you will build on your new-found knowledge each week. Again, this is designed for beginners, so you will be led through everything very gently and comfortably and with much understanding of your level.

Who Can Benefit:

Any of you who have never had dance training before, regardless of age or ability level. Anyone who wants to be better in Street Jazz or Lyrical or Contemporary classes during the jumps and turns in the choreography, or who might want to look more graceful in class, even Burly Q!

Important Details:

This is a workshop, and will be sold as one unit, separate from your regular class package.

Due to limited spacing (to ensure students get balanced attention and adequate learning space), we are offering pre-registration starting April 28, 2010, and space permitting, allowing registration up to the first day of class. There are only 20 students maximum allowed in this class, so register soon to ensure your spot! Students may not attend the series once it has already begun on May 22.

Pre-registration involves payment for the workshop at the time of registration. You may do this in person, or just call 503.753.9976 and pay with a card over the phone. Simple!

Make-up classes will not be given for student absences during the workshop, nor can refunds be given after the series begins.

Want more technique after the series is over?

We now offer a regular Technique Brush Up class on Saturdays at 11am! People with a basic understanding (that's you, after the workshop is over!) can attend this class as on a drop-in basis, just like the rest of our classes on the schedule.
